Calibration for Humid Conditions
Gas analyzer or detector calibration is more effective when the gas standard closely matches conditions of analysis. Percent relative humidity (%RH) in the environment can affect analytical readings as well as contaminate or shorten the lifespan of the detector. To be sure you are calibrating to the same conditions as exposure, you need to create calibration gas that relates to the operational environment.
KIN-TEK Analytical, Inc. offers the FlexStreamTM Base Module paired with the FlexStreamTM Humidified Gas Module as a solution for dynamically creating variable %RH from 30% to 90% (depending on the application) for accurate calibration of gas analytical and detection devices. The FlexSteamTM System can be operated through FlexLinkTMsoftware (provided) or by local touchscreen integration. Gas standards using selected permeation tubes are created in the FlexStreamTM Base Module and are combined with humidity vapor from the humidified gas module.
The %RH is varied by the ratio of dry to wet gas measured and controlled as it passes an external sensor situated close to the point of detection. System automation controls the %RH to +/- 3% and data is logged to a file. The user can decide between Zero gas %RH or Span gas %RH (with permeation tube gas combined in the gas stream). Comparison studies of detector exposure with and without humidity at different levels are easily done.
