At KIN-TEK, our forté is providing precision gas standards generating instrumentation using TraceSource™ Permeation Tubes to blend complex, trace concentration (ppm, ppb, ppt, and ppq) gas mixtures.

KIN-TEK stands alone in creating complex mixtures. Complex mixtures are a key factor in trace concentration analysis because the actual samples analyzed are complex mixtures, and often the so-called “insignificant components” affect the analytical result, even if they to not materially affect product quality.
Complex mixtures incorporate multiple criteria in a single mixture. For example, the mixture may contain a large number of trace concentration components. Or, the concentration range of the various components may be very broad with some components at ppt levels and others in the same mixture at thousands of ppm. In some cases the mixture components may react slowly with each other, so that the mixture is not stable in storage. Or the mixture may be humidified and contain a large amount of water vapor. Such mixtures must be created dynamically as needed and (generally) used immediately. The mixtures are created by dynamically blending an array of extremely low flowing (nanoliters/minute) component gas streams, each with a precisely known flow rate, with a much larger (liters/minute) matrix gas flow.
